Explore the origin

Anacafé organizes Guatemalan coffee information by growing region. Regional descriptions are a useful orientation; individual lots still differ with producer practice and processing.

What to look for on a bag

Country of cultivation, region, farm or cooperative, crop or harvest information, species or cultivar where known, processing, exporter or importer where disclosed, and roast date each answer a different question. The roaster’s address is not the origin of the beans.

Build a useful comparison

Start with two coffees of similar roast level and brew them with the same recipe. Record the lot names and your observations. Avoid assigning a fixed flavour profile to an entire country; producer decisions and seasons change what reaches the cup.

Share a traceable discovery

When recommending a coffee, include the bag label or source link and explain whether you bought it, received a sample or work with the producer. Use the discussion to add first-hand context or suggest a correction.
