This is a chemistry experiment! Most people who don't understand siphon coffee think so. In fact, I thought so at the beginning. I remember the first time I saw siphon coffee was in a TV show, where an alcohol lamp was paired with a glass flask and a funnel, and coffee was extracted using steam. Oh, and some baristas would gently rub the glass flask with a damp cloth. When I saw this scene, the first thing I thought was: so professional, I can't learn it! If I did it, it might explode. Is this how coffee is made? Then I'm doomed to have nothing to do with coffee. Well, now that I've been exposed to coffee, and have basically learned how to make siphon coffee, I can also come in front of you and pretend to be a "professional". Want to learn how to make a cup of siphon coffee like a deer? Then you just need to master the steps. 1. Pour hot water into the glass flask (lower pot) until it reaches the position for two people. Light the alcohol lamp and heat the water in the lower pot until the water boils. Insert the upper pot, let the rubber edge touch the spout of the lower pot, and let the iron chain of the upper pot soak in the water of the lower pot. It is okay for the upper pot to tilt, and do not push it tightly into the lower pot. 2. Continue to boil water and wait for large bubbles to continue to emerge from the lower pot. When large bubbles appear in the lower pot, straighten the upper pot. Gently shake it left and right to press it down and insert it into the lower pot. After inserting the upper pot, you can see the water in the lower pot moving to the upper pot. This is because the rising air pressure causes the boiling water to be pushed to the upper pot. 3. Wait for the water to rise completely to the upper pot, and wait for a few seconds. Then pour the pre-ground coffee powder into the upper pot. For two people, about 20-24g is enough. Then use a stirring tool to stir the coffee powder. Stir 5-6 times for the first time, then wait for half a minute, stir again 3-4 times, and then wait for one minute. This will allow the coffee to be extracted more fully! 4. Wait for one minute, extinguish the alcohol lamp with the alcohol lamp cap, and stop heating. This will reduce the air pressure in the lower pot, and the coffee powder in the upper pot will drip into the lower pot. If you want the coffee powder in the lower pot to drip faster, you can slowly wipe the bottom of the lower pot with a damp cloth. 5. After the coffee has completely dripped into the lower pot, separate the lower pot from the upper pot and pour out the coffee. The process may seem a bit complicated, but it is actually very simple. I think the only difficult part is how to control the installation of the lower and upper pots. But it can be learned easily. By the way, everyone must pay attention that the bottom of the glass flask must be kept dry before calcining. If you are interested, you can also try the coffee brewed in this way. One advantage of this coffee is that as long as you set the stirring times and extraction time of the coffee powder in the pot, the taste of your brew will not be much different each time. It is a very stable coffee brewing method. |
