Hand brewed coffee is very simple. You can learn it in just ten minutes.

Before I heard of hand-brewed coffee, I took it for granted that making a cup of coffee would be troublesome. This was mainly because I was used to seeing the busy baristas in coffee shops. I always thought that it took a big coffee machine and very skilled craftsmanship to make a good cup of coffee. But what is the reality? After getting in touch with it, I found that it only takes a few simple tools and a few simple steps to drink a good cup of coffee at home in ten minutes.

1. Tools

1. A hand-brewed kettle: provides you with hot water at the right temperature. Generally speaking, 89 to 93 degrees is more common.

2. A hand grinder: It helps you grind the coffee beans to the coarseness you like. There is no particular requirement for this part. The coarseness can be different each time, so that you can find the best flavor.

3. An electronic scale: helps you measure the right amount of coffee beans, preferably accurate to milligrams;

4. A filter cup and a sharing cup: used to extract coffee. Remember to wet the filter paper in the filter cup with hot water first, because hot water can remove some of the impurities on the surface of the filter paper that you imagine;

2. Handmade

1. Measure the beans: Use an electronic scale to measure the coffee beans you need. For example, I usually take 20g per person.

2. Grinding: Grind the coffee beans by hand;

3. Boil water: While grinding, heat the water to between 89 and 93 degrees;

4. Cleaning: Fold the filter paper, put it into the filter cup, soak it with hot water, and make sure the filter paper fits the filter cup as closely as possible, so that it will look better when taking photos (not really, the benefit of doing this is that it facilitates extraction);

5. Add powder: Pour the ground coffee powder into the wet filter paper and shake it slowly (the benefits of doing this are the same as above);

6. Steaming: First add hot water in multiples of the amount of coffee powder. For example, for 20g of coffee powder, add 40g of water and steam for about 10 seconds. This will release the gas in the coffee powder, and through osmosis, the coffee powder will release aromatic substances from the cell wall and dissolve in water after the exchange of gas and water. (This is not my experience, but what the experts said. I will use it here. My real idea is that steaming can make the coffee powder swell up and look beautiful, if you do this step well);

7. Extraction: This is the last step. You just need to add a certain amount of water to the powder in a circular motion within 2 minutes without stopping. The amount of water is based on the powder. The common ratio is 15:1 to 18:1. For those who are not good at math, I use 15:1 for easy calculation. That is, for 20g of powder, I just add 300g of water.

8. Take photos: So I said that step 7 can only be regarded as the last step. In fact, the real last step is still taking photos. After ten minutes of hard work, if you don’t show the results, even if you are worthy of yourself, how can you be worthy of your phone and your circle of friends? Since everyone is experienced in taking photos, I won’t say more. The only thing you need to remind is to remember to post and share on Sina Weibo in the topic #手抽咖啡爱人#, and I will help you let more people see it;

In short, if you like drinking coffee, you might as well try making a cup of hand-brewed coffee at home as I said. As long as the beans are not bad, its quality will be far better than Starbucks. Of course, it can also help you save half of the money.
