Grind adjustment without chasing numbers

Use your grinder’s setting as a repeatable local reference.

Understand the choice

A setting of 12 on one grinder does not define the same particle size as 12 on another. Burr geometry, calibration, wear and the coffee itself change the result. Keep a note of the grinder model and any adjustment procedure.

Put it into practice

Change a small amount and repeat the same recipe. Follow the manufacturer’s instruction on whether the motor should run during adjustment; do not force the mechanism.

Keep the conversation useful

Share your actual recipe or experience, identify the coffee or equipment and explain what changed. A clear question with measurements makes the discussion easier for others to answer.
