Your starting point

Use a scale, a timer, clean equipment and good drinking water. The quantities below are an original practice recipe to help you compare changes, not an official certification standard.

Step by step

  1. Use a clean covered food-safe container. Add 80 g of coarse-ground coffee and 800 g of cold drinking water.
  2. Mix to wet the grounds, cover and refrigerate while steeping. Label the start time and ingredients.
  3. After about 12 hours, filter with clean equipment and taste a small portion. Extend the next batch only if you prefer it.
  4. Keep the filtered drink refrigerated in a clean sealed container. Prepare small batches and discard drinks that have been mishandled.

Taste, adjust, repeat

This is a home starting recipe, not a validated commercial preservation process. Dilution changes strength; record added water and milk separately.

Keep a brew note

Save the bean name, roast date, dose, water, beverage yield, grind, temperature, time and one sensory observation. Repeat before changing several variables at once.
