The magic of coffee: from beans to a cup of coffee

Coffee is an addictive drink. It not only refreshes the mind, but also brings a pleasant taste experience. However, it is not easy to process coffee beans into a cup of fragrant coffee. The following will take you into this magical process.

Picking and processing

First of all, we need to select high-quality coffee beans. These beans are usually grown in high-altitude areas, such as Colombia, Brazil, etc. When the beans are ripe, farmers will pick them by hand.

The picked coffee cherries need to be processed to get coffee beans that can be roasted. The most common and traditional method is to process them through the washed method.

First, in the washed method, farmers will put the freshly picked fruits into a pool for washing and peeling. Then the remaining part will be put into the fermentation tank for fermentation.

Over days or even weeks, during the fermentation process, the pulp is broken down by microorganisms, exposing the coffee beans, which are then washed and dried.

The Art of Baking

After processing, coffee beans need to be roasted to release their most delicious aroma and flavor. Roasting is an art that requires taking into account factors such as time, temperature and heat.

First, the coffee beans are placed in the roaster and the appropriate temperature is set. Over time, the temperature gradually increases.

Initially, the water evaporates, creating a slightly grassy aroma. Next, chemical changes begin to occur within the coffee bean as it reacts at high temperatures.

When the desired texture is reached (usually by color), remove from heat and cool rapidly to avoid over-baking due to continued heating.

Carefully blended

Carefully blended coffee beans can be used to create a variety of different tastes and flavors of coffee. This requires blending beans of different types and roasting degrees.

During the blending process, the barista will select the right proportion of beans to mix according to different taste requirements and flavor characteristics. This will give you a richer, more balanced and complex coffee taste.

Grinding and Brewing

Finally, we come to the last two steps in making a great cup of coffee: grinding and brewing.

First, put the prepared coffee beans into a grinder and grind them to obtain fine and uniform coffee powder.

Next, place the desired amount of ground coffee in a filter and slowly pour boiling water over it. Wait a few minutes for the water to fully come into contact with the coffee and extract all of its delicious ingredients.

Finally, use a strainer to filter out the residue, pour the extracted liquid into the cup and enjoy a cup of fragrant and delicious coffee!

Conclusion

The magic of coffee, from beans to a cup of fragrant coffee, needs to go through multiple links such as picking, processing, roasting, blending and brewing. Each link requires careful operation and control to finally present a perfect cup of coffee.

I hope that through the introduction of this article, you have a deeper understanding of the coffee processing process and can better appreciate and enjoy the pleasure brought by this magical drink.
