The secret of how coffee beans are made!

Coffee beans are one of the most common foods in our daily life. They go through a series of production methods to become the coffee we love. The following will reveal the production methods of coffee beans.

First of all, the coffee bean production process begins with planting. High-quality coffee beans need to grow under suitable climatic conditions, usually at high altitudes. Farmers will choose the right variety and soil, and regularly water and fertilize to ensure the healthy growth of the plants.


Secondly, harvesting is an indispensable step in making good coffee beans. When the berries are fully ripe, farmers will pick them by hand or use machines to harvest them. This process needs to be done carefully to avoid damaging the berries.

Next comes the processing stage, during which the rind is removed and the inner germ is exposed. There are two main methods of processing: dry and wet.

Dry processing is one of the oldest and most simple and direct methods. In this process, the whole coffee beans are not peeled but washed and dried before being stored in the warehouse. During the drying process, the coffee beans will gradually shrink and become smaller.

The wet process involves peeling the fruit and washing it with water. Next, the coffee beans are placed in a fermentation tank for fermentation. This process helps remove the pulp residue and makes the coffee beans more aromatic.

The final step is roasting. During the roasting process, the coffee beans are exposed to high temperatures, which can change their color, taste, and aroma. Different roasting times and temperatures will produce coffee with different flavors.


In summary, making a good coffee bean requires multiple steps including planting, harvesting, processing and roasting. Each step requires farmers to cultivate and operate carefully to produce the delicious coffee we love.
