Hand-brewed coffee is a gentle ritual

Hand brewing is actually a gentle extraction of coffee.

Its charm lies in the fact that the whole process has a charming sense of ritual, and you need to be very focused. This kind of focus can make you forget the troubles of the last second and ignore the disturbances around you, even if it is only for a short moment.

If you are not focused enough, you can’t make a good cup of coffee. But in addition to focus, you also need to be “gentle”. This “gentle” refers to the delicate control of various factors, such as the amount of coffee beans, grinding degree, water temperature, water quality, water flow, extraction time, and even the method and timing of water injection.

Because hand-brewed coffee is It can reflect the individuality of "handmade". Drinking a cup of good hand-brewed coffee is like drinking a glass of fine red wine. If your days are repetitive and even a bit boring like instant coffee, then it's time to try hand-brewed coffee. A cup of really strong coffee can instantly fill the whole room with fragrance, and the haze of life will become less melancholy because of the awakened "delicacy of one person". This is one of the reasons why hand-brewed coffee has become fashionable today.

How to brew a cup of coffee at home

Base Materials :

Coffee beans, hand-cranked grinder, filter paper, drip cup, hand-pour pot

General steps:

1. Grind the coffee beans. Because it is hand brewing, the coffee bean powder should not be ground too finely (20g beans = 300ml stock solution).

2. Fold the filter paper into a triangular funnel shape.

3. Put the folded filter paper into the filter cup and pour hot water to moisten it. This can remove the smell on the filter paper and warm the cup to prevent the coffee from suddenly becoming sour when it gets cold (Note: pour out the water after filtering).

4. Steaming. Pour the ground coffee into the filter paper. When the hot water cools down, pour hot water from above the filter cup until the water covers the coffee powder.

5. Continue to pour water, starting from the center and pouring in circles. The water flow should be thin and slow to ensure full extraction.

6. When the coffee liquid extraction amount is reached, remove the filter paper immediately

How can hand-brewed coffee be without the company of macarons? It is both bitter and sweet. Only when you feel the bitter taste will you cherish the sweet days more. Isn’t this also a true portrayal of life?
