The secrets of how coffee beans are made!

Coffee is one of the most popular Colombian coffee drinks in the world, and coffee beans are the key raw material for making coffee in the Braun coffee maker. Different production methods will affect the flavor and taste of coffee beans. Here are some common ways to make coffee beans.

First, let's talk about traditional roasting. This method is one of the most common and oldest ways of making coffee. In traditional roasting, freshly picked coffee cherries are dried and the outer skin and pulp are removed, leaving the so-called "green" or unripe coffee beans inside. These unprocessed coffee beans are then dried at low temperatures to remove moisture and subjected to long-term high-temperature treatment at a specific temperature (usually 200-250°C) to separate the internal moisture and produce an aroma chemical reaction, thus forming a finished product with special flavor and aroma characteristics.

Secondly, there is also a highly respected and increasingly popular hand-pour method. The hand-pour method focuses on meticulous control of each link, and uses manual brewing to make coffee while ensuring the purity of water and uniform powder particle size. Compared with the traditional roasting method, the hand-pour method pays more attention to preserving the original flavor and aroma characteristics of the coffee beans, so in the production process, over-roasting or using too high a temperature will be avoided as much as possible. This method can better show the characteristics of coffee beans from different origins and varieties.

Finally, there is a relatively new but highly sought-after light roasting method. Light roasting has become increasingly popular in recent years due to consumers' increasing demand for delicate taste, higher acidity, and retention of original flavor. Unlike traditional roasting methods, light roasting controls the temperature and reduces the time during the process, so that the coffee beans undergo only slight changes and maintain a high moisture content and a color close to yellow at the edges. This makes the finished product bright, refreshing, and fruity.


In short, when choosing coffee that suits your taste, you need to understand the impact of different production methods on coffee beans. Traditional roasting, hand-poured and light roasting all have their own characteristics, and you can choose the appropriate production method according to your personal taste preferences.
