Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and the quality of coffee beans directly affects the taste and flavor of coffee. In order to ensure that consumers can buy high-quality coffee beans, there is a set of standards in the industry that are divided into grades. However, there is no unified industry standard that is universally applicable to all countries and regions around the world. Different countries and regions have their own independently formulated and implemented standards, which depend on factors such as the local development level of the coffee industry, consumer demand, and market size. In the United States, the Specialty COFFEE Association of AmerICA (scaA) has developed a widely adopted and recognized grading system. According to this system, high-quality coffee beans are divided into four grades: special grade, grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3. Special grade is the highest quality with the best taste and flavor, while grade 3 indicates lower quality. In contrast, in Europe, Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) has developed and promoted an evaluation system called "Q Grading". This system calls excellent beans "special grade", and the other grades are 1, 2, 3 and 4. This system focuses on the comprehensive evaluation of coffee beans, including aroma, acidity, taste and other aspects. In addition to the United States and Europe, some other coffee-producing countries also have their own independent standards. For example, Brazil uses a set of standards called "SC" (STrictly Cerrado) and "NY" (New York) to classify the quality of coffee beans. Although there is no global unified industry standard, the standards developed and implemented in these regions are summarized through long-term practice and experience and are widely accepted. Consumers can choose coffee beans that suit their taste needs and budget by checking the grade information listed on the packaging. In short, there are coffee bean grade classification standards formulated and implemented by different countries and regions around the world. These standards are designed to ensure that consumers can buy high-quality coffee beans that meet their taste requirements. |
