How are coffee beans grown?

Coffee beans are a very common food in our daily life. They are produced from the fruits of coffee trees. Let's take a look at how coffee beans grow.

First of all, coffee trees need suitable climatic conditions to grow. They usually grow in tropical and subtropical areas with temperatures between 15 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius. In addition, sufficient sunlight and moderate rainfall are also essential for their growth.

When coffee trees reach maturity, they produce white flowers. These flowers, after being pollinated, form small, green fruits called "cherries." These cherries usually take about 8 months to fully mature.

Once the cherries are fully ripe, farmers begin picking them. They remove the cherries from the trees by hand or by machine and perform a preliminary processing. During the processing, they remove the pulp and keep the two seeds inside - what we call coffee beans.

Next, soon after harvest, the coffee beans go through a process called fermentation. This process usually requires the beans to be placed in a specific environment so that the outer pulp can rot and decompose naturally. The fermentation time usually takes 24 to 48 hours.

After fermentation is complete, the beans are washed and dried. Farmers will place them in the sun or use a drying machine to ensure they are completely dry. This is a very important step because too much humidity can cause the beans to spoil.

Finally, after drying, the coffee beans are ready for grinding and processing. Farmers usually transport them to specialized processing plants or cooperatives for processing, sorting, packaging and sales according to different needs.

In summary, the growth of coffee beans requires multiple steps, including suitable climatic conditions, flower pollination, cherry ripening, picking and processing. Each link has an important impact on the quality of the final coffee produced.
