Coffee ingredients

Coffee is a popular drink whose main ingredients include coffee beans and water. Coffee beans are the basic material for making coffee, while water is an essential element for brewing coffee.

1. Coffee Beans

Coffee beans are seeds picked from coffee trees that grow all over the world. These trees usually grow in tropical and subtropical regions, such as Brazil, Colombia, Vietnam and other countries.

When ripe, the red or yellow fruit is picked and the center is exposed to the sun to dry. The outer skin is then removed, leaving the seeds inside, known as the "cherry."

These cherries contain two small, oval seeds (what we call "beans"), which are what we commonly call "coffee beans."

2. Water

Water is essential to brewing delicious, tasty coffee. Different types and qualities of water will have different effects on the taste and flavor of the coffee.

Firstly, the water needs to be clean, with no odours or impurities. This can be achieved by filtering tap water or using mineral water.

Secondly, the water temperature required for brewing coffee is also important. Generally speaking, the optimal brewing temperature should be between 90°C and 96°C. If the temperature is too low, the aroma and flavor in the coffee beans may not be fully extracted; if the temperature is too high, it may cause bitterness or burnt taste.

3. Other raw materials

In addition to coffee beans and water, some people like to add other ingredients to their coffee to enhance the flavor. Common additives include milk, sugar, chocolate powder, etc.

Milk can be used to make various types of coffee drinks, such as latte, cappuccino, etc. It can add a rich and soft taste to coffee and reduce bitterness.

Sugar is another common addition that can balance the acidity and bitterness of coffee when used in moderation, while chocolate powder can add a rich chocolate flavor to coffee.
