Pour-over coffee making: easy-to-learn method for brewing high-quality coffee

Hand-poured coffee is a method of making high-quality coffee that can bring a unique taste and aroma. The following will introduce a simple and easy-to-learn hand-poured coffee making method, so that you can enjoy delicious hand-brewed coffee at home.

Prepare the necessary materials

First, we need to prepare the following materials:

  • Freshly ground coffee beans (medium or dark roast is recommended)
  • Filter paper (cotton paper or metal filter)
  • Electronic scale (for accurate weighing of water and coffee beans)
  • Kettle (preferably a long-necked kettle to control the water filling speed)
  • Stirring spoon or stick
  • Timer (there is also a timer function on the mobile phone)

Step 1: Preheat the equipment and clean the filter paper

First, boil the water in the kettle and preheat the coffee cup and hand-pour equipment with hot water. At the same time, put the filter paper into the filter and rinse it with hot water to remove the paper smell.

Step 2: Accurately weigh the coffee beans and water

Use an electronic scale to weigh the appropriate amount of coffee beans and purified water. Generally speaking, 6-8 grams of coffee beans are needed for every 100 ml of purified water.

Step 3: Crush the coffee beans

Put the weighed coffee beans into a manual or electric grinder and grind them. It is recommended to choose a medium-fine grind to extract more aroma and taste.

Step 4: Add appropriate amount of boiling water

Cool the pre-boiled purified water down to about 90°C (about 1 minute after boiling), and then slowly pour it into the pre-heated hand brewing device with filter paper added. During this process, you can gently stir the coffee bed with a stirring spoon to ensure that the coffee beans are fully soaked.

Step 5: Wait for soaking time

After pouring water, wait about 30 seconds for the coffee beans to expand and release their aroma. This process is called the "fluff period" and it helps extract more flavor substances.

Step 6: Slowly pour in the remaining water

After the puff period, slowly pour the remaining purified water into the hand pourer. Try to keep the water pouring speed even and avoid pouring it directly onto the filter paper to prevent damaging the coffee bed.

Step 7: Wait for the extraction to complete

After all the boiling water is poured into the hand brewing device, please wait patiently for about 2-4 minutes (adjust according to personal taste) to allow the coffee to be fully extracted. You can use a timer to help control the extraction time.

Step 8: Pour into a glass and enjoy

When the extraction time is over, remove the hand-pour device from the coffee cup and gently pour the coffee into the preheated cup. In this way, a cup of fragrant and rich-tasting hand-poured coffee is ready.

summary

With the above easy-to-learn high-quality hand-brewed coffee making method, you can make delicious hand-brewed coffee at home. Not only can you enjoy the unique taste and aroma, but you can also experience the fun and satisfaction brought by the making process. I hope you like this simple and interesting way to taste coffee!
