Coffee making process explained

Coffee making process explained

The origin of coffee

Coffee is a beverage made from coffee beans that originated in Africa. Legend has it that in the 9th century, a shepherd named Kaldi discovered the coffee tree. He noticed that his sheep became unusually active after eating the coffee berries. So he decided to try tasting the berries himself and found that they had a refreshing effect.

From picking to baking

To make delicious coffee, it first needs to be picked and processed. The coffee cherries of appropriate maturity are picked by hand or machine, and the outer skin and pulp are removed.

The remaining part is then dried or washed to remove the slime, dried in the sun or baked using special equipment.

Grinding and Brewing

Once you are ready to roast the beans, you can start breaking them down into a powdered state. This process is called grinding and varies between varieties and taste requirements.

Next is the brewing process. The most common method is to use a filter coffee machine, put the ground coffee powder into the filter, add the appropriate amount of boiling water, and wait for a while before enjoying it.

Different types of coffee

In addition to traditional filter coffee, there are many other types and flavors of coffee to choose from.

Espresso is made by passing high-pressure water vapor through finely ground beans. It has a rich and intense taste.

Chai tea is made by mixing milk with espresso and adding spices such as cinnamon, cloves and ginger.

Innovation and change

Over time, people have innovated and changed the way they make and enjoy coffee. Now there are all kinds of special processing processes to get special taste or flavor to enhance the beans; and different ways of brewing or matching materials to achieve a more diversified experience.

Conclusion

The coffee making process includes a series of steps from picking to roasting, grinding and brewing. Different types and flavors of coffee also provide us with more choices. Whether it is traditional filter coffee or the special taste after innovative changes, it can bring us deliciousness and enjoyment.
