Many people advocate hand brewing, but in fact not many people can really master it.

Nowadays, more and more people advocate hand brewing coffee, and this way of brewing coffee has even been directly associated with exquisite life. It may be that everyone advocates this way of brewing coffee by hand, or it may be because this method is "old" enough, or it may be that this method is too difficult.

Many people think that hand brewing is very simple, so when they get started most of them will choose hand brewing to get into coffee. But in fact, to make a good cup of hand brewing, it is really not too difficult.

Most hand-brewed coffee is made with a paper drip filter. The paper filter is placed in a container with an empty bottom, and then the coffee powder is poured into the filter paper, and then hot water is poured from above. The coffee ingredients will first be dissolved in the hot water, and then drip into the cup through the filter paper.

Although this step seems simple, it is actually quite difficult.

First of all, the extraction and filtration of coffee happen at the same time, so the extraction time is not easy to control. However, everyone knows that the extraction time is an important factor in determining the taste of coffee. Even if the time from pouring hot water to the end is only 3-5 minutes, and the hot water is poured several times, the actual extraction time may be longer than what you initially estimated.

Secondly, the extraction time is different depending on the amount of coffee powder and the size of the particles. If you use a coffee brewing method like siphon, if you want to brew multiple cups, you only need to increase the amount of coffee powder and water, which can also brew the flavor you want.

If you use filter paper, if you increase the amount of coffee powder and hot water at will, the extraction time will be longer. If you want to increase the number of cups of coffee you brew, you can reduce the proportion of coffee powder a little bit, or change to larger coffee powder. In order to change the taste of coffee, you can use larger coffee powder but the same quality to brew, so that the extraction time changes and the taste will also change. If you don't change the coffee particles, you can try to adjust the water temperature of the water.

Finally, the extraction time will be different depending on the coffee filter you use. Because different coffee filters filter at different speeds, the coffee filter will also affect the taste.

When choosing a coffee filter, you should pay attention to the size, number, and material of the coffee filter holes. Small holes will filter slowly, and this type of extraction will be more stable. If there are more holes or the holes are larger, the filtering speed will be faster, which is prone to over-extraction. If you don't have enough skills, it is recommended not to use it easily. As for the material of the filter, you can pay attention to the grooves engraved on the inner wall. Some of them may not have a good forming effect and easily hinder the outflow of water. You can pay a little attention when purchasing.

Hand brewing has very high requirements on tools and brewing techniques of baristas. Of course, don't worry that you don't know how to do it, because after brewing more and learning more, you may become the next professional barista.
