The origin of hand-poured coffee making method

The hand-poured coffee making method is a traditional way that originated centuries ago. In the past, people did not have modern coffee machines, so they could only use simple tools to make coffee. Although this method is more cumbersome, it can preserve the flavor and aroma of the coffee beans themselves.

Development History

The earliest method of making hand-poured coffee can be traced back to the mid-15th century. At that time, a method of soaking ground coffee beans in boiling water before drinking was popular in the Arab region. This method is called "immersion method" and it is one of the earliest forms of hand-poured coffee making methods.

Over time, people began to experiment with different ways to extract and filter out the oils and impurities contained in the coffee powder. They invented various tools for filtering or separating solid particles from liquid mixtures (such as water and grounds added to it) and applied them to coffee making.

At the end of the 18th century, a device called the "French Press" became popular in Europe. This device used a new filtering method, which was to mix ground coffee beans with hot water and filter them under pressure in a specially designed container. This method was called the "pressure method" and it became another important development in the method of making hand-brewed coffee.

Modern hand brewed coffee making method

With the advancement of technology and craftsmanship, modern hand-brew coffee making methods have gradually become simpler and more efficient. People have invented a variety of devices for controlling parameters such as water temperature, water volume and soaking time, and applied them to hand-brew coffee making.

The most famous ones are V60, time-freeze pot, pour-over pot and other tools. These tools are specially designed to optimize the contact area between water and coffee powder, making the extraction more uniform and sufficient. At the same time, they can also control the speed and direction of water flow to achieve a better extraction target taste.

Advantages of hand brewed coffee

Compared with the traditional coffee machine method, hand brewed coffee has the following advantages:

1. Preserve the flavor and aroma of the coffee beans themselves. Hand-brewed coffee does not require high-temperature boiling or high-pressure extraction, so it can better preserve the complex flavor and aroma contained in the coffee beans.

2. You can adjust the parameters according to your personal taste. During the hand-brew coffee making process, you can adjust the extraction effect by controlling parameters such as water temperature, water volume, and soaking time. In this way, each cup of hand-brew coffee can be customized according to personal preferences.

3. Provide more personal participation. Compared with simply pressing a button and waiting for the machine to complete the work, manual operation allows people to participate more personally in the production process. This sense of participation will increase the appreciation and enjoyment of every cup of hand-brewed coffee.

Conclusion

Although modern automated equipment has become mainstream, providing convenience and efficiency in a fast-paced life, the traditional hand-brewed coffee making method is still loved by many coffee lovers. It not only provides a unique taste and flavor, but also brings people an intimate experience with coffee.
