If you buy a coffee machine you like, but don't take good care of it, it will easily shorten its life. Some friends don't know whether to buy an American coffee machine or an Italian coffee machine. Today, I will introduce the difference between Italian coffee machines and American coffee machines and how to use Italian coffee machines.

The difference between an espresso machine and an American coffee machine

Italian coffee machine: Usually equipped with a boiler to produce hot water. The coffee shop pressurizes the hot water to about 9 atmospheres and then flows it through the powdered coffee beans in the metal filter to brew coffee. The coffee brewed with pressurized hot water is thicker than usual and has emulsified oils. It is usually called Italian coffee or espresso.

American coffee machine: usually divided into two layers, the ground coffee beans are placed in the upper funnel-shaped container with filter paper or metal filter, the lower layer is a glass or ceramic coffee pot, cold water is poured into another separate compartment. When starting, heat the cold water to about 90 degrees Celsius and slowly introduce it into the funnel-shaped container, so that the hot water passes through the coffee powder and flows into the coffee pot below.

How to use an espresso machine

1. Every morning, turn the coffee machine power switch to the heating position to heat the coffee machine. Make sure the power indicator light is on and hang the two filter handles on the coffee faucet of the machine.

2. Pour the coffee beans into the grinder's bean container, only pouring out the amount of beans needed for the day. Reseal the remaining coffee beans and store them in a dry room temperature environment.

3. After about fifteen minutes, the pressure gauge on the coffee machine reaches the set position, indicating that the machine has been heated and is ready for use.

4. To ensure high-quality coffee drinks, turn on the coffee dispenser and release about 5 ounces of water from each faucet before making coffee, and release some steam and hot water from the steam pipe and hot water pipe on both sides to fully heat the coffee machine for another ten minutes.

5. Turn on the coffee grinder and grind the coffee beans. Do not grind too much powder in advance to avoid losing the aroma of the coffee powder.

6. Hold the filter handle with your left hand and turn it to the left to remove it, then insert the handle under the grinder. Pull the powder puller handle with your right hand.

7. Use the small end of the hand-held powder press to tap the edge of the filter to flatten the powder, and then press the powder once with the large end vertically downward. Then tap the edge of the filter again with the small end, and press the powder firmly for the second time with the large end.

8. Wipe off the residual powder on the edge of the filter with your hand, turn on the coffee dispenser to release hot water for 3 seconds, then hang the handle on the machine faucet, turn it to the right and lock it.

9. Take the coffee cup from the cup warming plate on the top of the machine and place it under the water outlet of the faucet, then press the corresponding coffee dispensing button on the panel.

10. After the coffee is ready, turn the handle to knock the coffee grounds into the grounds bucket, wipe the filter clean with a brush or a clean rag, and gently put the handle back on the faucet to preheat and keep warm.
