How do beginners choose coffee beans?
It is particularly difficult to recommend coffee beans because people have very different tastes. What one person thinks is delicious may be poison to another. It's like coriander, some people love it and some people hate it.

There are indeed many types of coffee beans. There are countless combinations of bean varieties, origins, and processing methods. For novices, they are all a list of nouns. After reading a lot of stories, you still can't imagine what it is. So how do you choose? I can't tell you which one to choose, but I can tell you which ones to avoid as much as possible. Pay attention, it's not that these are bad, but they are not suitable for the first time to buy beans.
First of all, don't buy the extremely expensive ones. There is a reason why this stuff is expensive. When it is five, six or even ten times more expensive than ordinary beans, it will have some very unique characteristics. These characteristics are too prominent and may cause you misunderstanding. In addition, it is easy to go up but difficult to come down, which is also very hurtful to your wallet.
Secondly, don't buy anything weird. This refers to the processing method. After the coffee beans are picked, they must go through a series of processing at the place of origin before they can be exported to other countries. The most basic ones are washed, sun-dried, and honey processing, which is between the two. There are more and more new processing methods now, some of which may greatly change the original taste of the coffee beans. You may like it, or you may not like it very much, so for the first time, just choose washed or sun-dried.

Third, don't buy beans with extremely extreme roasting degrees, which refers to extremely dark or extremely light roasting. Often, this impact will exceed the difference between bean varieties. For example, the sun-dried beans from these two producing areas in Ethiopia are of similar price and are both medium-light roasted, so there is not much difference in the taste. However, if one cup of the same bean is lightly roasted and the other is extremely dark roasted, they may taste like two completely different things. Light roasting, medium roasting, or even medium-dark roasting is a range that is more suitable for fine beans, but sometimes, in order to highlight a certain feature, extremely light roasting may be used. Some even look light yellow after grinding, so it is not recommended to buy this kind of beans for the first time, because improper brewing may lead to a serious imbalance in the taste.
In addition to the above three points, don't be superstitious about brands, and don't be superstitious about bringing beans back from abroad, because these beans may be far from the roasting date when they reach you. No matter how good the coffee beans are, if they are not fresh, they will not taste good. I know there are many beans that meet the requirements, so you can just pick them according to your taste.
