From coffee beans to instant coffee: the production process revealed

Coffee is a must-have drink for many people every morning, and instant coffee is even more popular among people with busy lifestyles. But have you ever wondered how these delicious instant coffees are made? Below we will reveal the production process from coffee beans to instant coffee.

1. Raw material collection and processing

First of all, to make high-quality instant coffee, we need to choose high-quality raw materials - fresh and moderately mature coffee beans. These high-quality beans usually come from factors such as superior origin, suitable climatic conditions for planting and superb cultivation technology.

Once picked, these raw, unprocessed berries are sent to the processing plant for initial processing, where workers remove the outer layer of the berries and expose the coffee beans inside, which are rich in valuable ingredients, deep in color, and have special aroma and flavor.

2. Baking

Next, the coffee beans will be sent to the roasting workshop for roasting. Roasting is one of the key steps in making instant coffee, which can not only change the color and appearance of the coffee beans, but also make them produce a rich aroma and taste.

During the roasting process, workers control factors such as temperature, time and heat according to different types and flavor requirements. Generally speaking, lighter roasting produces coffee beans with sour and floral aromas, while darker roasting makes the coffee beans more intense, bitter, and have chocolate or nutty flavors.

3. Grinding

After careful adjustment, the coffee beans that have completed the initial processing and have a special flavor and aroma will enter another important step - grinding. In this stage, workers use professional equipment to grind the whole coffee beans into powder.

Different types of instant coffee require different degrees of grinding, so workers adjust equipment and operations according to product requirements. Fine powder can dissolve better in water, making instant coffee easier to brew and enjoy.

4. Dissolution

After grinding, the coffee beans have become fine and uniform powder. Next, the powder will be sent to a high temperature and high pressure container for dissolution.

Inside the container, workers will inject a certain proportion of water and use special techniques and equipment to speed up the dissolution process. This process usually takes a while to complete and must ensure a balance between speed and quality.

5. Cooling and drying

When all the coffee particles are completely dissolved, the remaining liquid will enter the cooling and drying stage, during which workers will use low-temperature equipment to cool the liquid and remove excess water.

At the same time, through special drying technology and equipment, workers are able to convert coffee liquid into powder or granular instant coffee. These instant coffee granules will be collected and, after screening, packaging and other steps, will eventually become the instant coffee products we see on the market.

Conclusion

From picking to processing and then to production, the production process from coffee beans to instant coffee can be said to be a complex and rigorous process. Each link requires experienced and skilled workers to operate and control.

However, it is each of these steps that determines the quality and taste of the final product. Therefore, when enjoying delicious instant coffee, please remember that it contains countless efforts and wisdom behind it.
