Guide to hand brewed coffee at home, what do you need to prepare?

Affected by the epidemic, how many days have you not been out of the house? How many people thought before the holiday how nice it would be to stay at home every day, but staying at home for a long time would be boring, so why not make a cup of hand-brewed coffee at home? Let me show you what you need to make a cup of hand-brewed coffee at home.

Fresh Sidamo Coffee Beans

1. Coffee beans

Coffee beans are essential for making hand-brewed coffee at home. In addition, it is recommended that you choose fresh single-origin coffee beans. Coffee beans from different origins and roasting degrees have different brewing tastes. If you don’t have coffee beans during this special period, you can choose Fresh Coffee, which is delivered normally by SF Express.

2. Bean grinder

Some friends choose to buy coffee powder directly because they don’t have a grinder, but I suggest that it’s better to buy a grinder and grind it yourself, because if you buy coffee powder directly, the aroma will be a lot less fragrant than the aroma of the ground coffee beans before brewing, and the taste will be much worse.

3. Brewing equipment

The necessary equipment for hand-brewed coffee is the filter cup, filter paper and hand-brewed pot. There are many types of filter cups, the most common ones are fan-shaped filter cups and cone-shaped filter cups. The taste extracted with different filter cups is also very different, and the filter paper must correspond to the type of filter cup, otherwise it will not fit the brewing. For the hand-brewed pot, if conditions permit, you can choose a temperature-controlled pot. If you use boiling water directly, the extracted taste will be bitter. If you don't use a temperature-controlled pot, you can also choose to use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the water.

4: Electronic scale

If you are a coffee lover, you can ignore this, but if you want to produce stable coffee, an electronic scale is essential, because the powder-water ratio is also very important. Generally, the powder-water ratio is recommended to be around 1:15. For example, 10g of powder needs to be extracted with 150g of water. If you don’t have an electronic scale, you can’t get the powder-water ratio accurately.
