The store basically retains the structure and components of the original building. Lanterns of unknown age, thick dust on the windowsills, stale and faded eaves... no additional decoration is needed to give it a strong sense of retro. Although you can walk into Hong'en Temple along the front porch, the historic site has not yet been repaired and opened, so you can only view it from a distance. mondee only occupies a corner of the buyer's shop and is managed by a female barista, specializing in siphon coffee. I've tried siphon brewing of single-origin beans in a nice restaurant before, but I didn't like it very much, so I chose a regular milk coffee. The milk is not particularly mellow, but it blends with the espresso, and it has a slight sourness in the bitterness and sweetness. It's a good cup of flat white^. Notes
