Coffee bean production: freshly roasted, rich flavor

Coffee bean production: freshly roasted, rich flavor

Coffee bean selection and roasting

When making freshly roasted coffee, the first thing to do is to choose high-quality coffee beans. High-quality coffee beans usually have higher quality and taste, which can bring us a better taste experience. Generally speaking, Arabica coffee beans are more popular because they have lower acidity and bitterness and a strong aroma.

When buying coffee beans, we can choose packaging that is intact, uncontaminated and fresh during the whole or ground process. This ensures that we get the best quality and taste.

Next comes the roasting process. Roasting is the process of heating the green beans to the appropriate temperature and causing them to undergo chemical changes to achieve the desired flavor and aroma effects. For fresh roasting, we usually choose light or medium dark roasting.

Light and medium roasts

Lightly or medium-dark roasted coffee beans retain more of their original flavor and aroma. This roasting method usually results in coffee beans with bright acidity, rich fruity aroma, and a fresh taste.

Light roasting is generally carried out between 165℃ and 205℃, which can ensure the full development of the coffee beans and avoid over-cooking and bitterness. Medium-depth roasting is carried out between 205℃ and 220℃, at which time oil begins to appear on the surface of the coffee beans.

Cooling and storage

After roasting, we need to cool the coffee beans quickly to stop further heating and prevent over-oxidation. Generally speaking, we can use professional equipment or place them in a well-ventilated and temperature-appropriate environment for natural cooling.

To maintain freshness and taste, store coffee beans in a clean, well-sealed container as soon as possible after cooling. Also, avoid exposure to direct sunlight or humidity.

Fresh grinding and brewing

When enjoying freshly roasted coffee, fresh grinding is a very important step. Freshly ground coffee beans can retain more flavor and aroma, giving us a better taste experience.

According to personal taste and preference, we can choose different coarseness and fineness for grinding. Generally speaking, coarse particles are suitable for brewing methods such as dripping and French pressing; medium particles are suitable for hand brewing and siphoning; and fine particles are suitable for espresso.

Summarize

Making freshly roasted coffee starts with the selection of high-quality beans and preserves its original flavor and aroma through a light or medium-dark roasting process. After completion, it is promptly cooled and stored in a sealed container to maintain freshness. Finally, it is processed on-site before enjoying for the best taste experience.

By following the above steps, we can create a cup of freshly roasted coffee that is fragrant, rich, and vibrant.
