Coffee bean grade: from AA to top, excellent quality choice

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, and the quality of coffee beans directly affects the taste and flavor of coffee. In the market, there are many different grades of coffee beans to choose from. From AA to top, each grade has its own unique features. This article will introduce the characteristics of each grade and provide you with some recommendations for high-quality coffee beans.

AA Level

AA refers to the highest quality, largest size and lowest number of Kenyan Arabica varieties, which only meet the standard of about 1%. These beans are usually large and regular in shape, with a smooth surface without blemishes. They have a rich and complex taste, exuding floral, fruity and chocolate flavors in the cup.

A+ Grade

A+ refers to about 10% of the Kenyan Arabica variety that is slightly less than AA grade but still in the high quality range. These beans are still of very high quality and have excellent taste. They often have floral and fruity aromas similar to AA grade, but may lack slightly in complexity.

A-level

A refers to about 30% of the Kenyan Arabica variety. These beans are relatively small, less regular in shape, and may have some defects. Despite this, A-grade coffee beans still have a good taste and flavor. They usually have citrus or berry acidity, accompanied by a certain degree of sweetness.

B Level

B refers to the coffee beans produced when about 40% of the Arabica variety in Kenya meets the standard. These beans are relatively small and irregular in shape, and there may be obvious defects on the surface. B-grade coffee beans usually have lower acidity and sweetness, and a relatively balanced taste.

C Level

C refers to the remaining amount of Kenyan Arabica varieties that meet the standards (about 20%). These beans are of the lowest quality and are judged as defective during the screening process. They usually have lower acidity and sweetness, and a relatively bland taste.

Top Choice

In addition to the above grades, there are some coffee beans that are considered top choices. These beans usually come from specific origins and are carefully selected and processed. For example, Colombian Supremo coffee beans are known for their high quality, with a rich chocolate flavor and balanced acidity. Another example is Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans, which are grown in an area with high altitudes and unique climatic conditions, giving them a unique and delicate flavor.

In short, when choosing coffee beans, please consider your personal taste preferences, budget, and quality requirements. Whether you choose AA grade or top grade coffee beans, you can enjoy the wonderful experience brought by excellent quality.
