As a further sign of its new-found status as a must-play venue for both emerging and established music artists, Beanscene, the expanding Scottish coffee and music house chain, has snagged a couple of exclusive in-store gigs with two of the most exciting singer-songwriters to emerge in recent years.
Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s finest songwriters, Nick Kelly, formerly of The Fat Lady Sings, plays Beanscene, Woodlands, Glasgow on 3 November at 8.30pm and Beanscene, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh on 4 November at 7.30pm in support of his new album ‘Running Dog’ - www.nickkelly.ie And LA singer/songwriter AM - a regular performer in Los Angeles (where he held a weekly residency at the infamous Hotel Cafe), New York, Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco - plays Beanscene, Woodlands on 4 November 5.00pm and Beanscene, West End on 5 November 8.15pm in support of his self titled debut album ‘AM’ – www.amsounds.com Both gigs are exclusive in-stores and both albums will be available for purchase in-store at Beanscene.
Gordon Richardson, founder of Beanscene, said, ‘These instores consolidate our emerging reputation amongst singer/songwriters and confirm that Beanscene has now firmly established itself as a standard fixture on the UK live circuit. I would urge anyone with an interest in great music and great performers to grab the chance to hear Nick Kelly and AM up close and personal while they still can.’ Beanscene, an alternative to city centre corporate coffee chains, bases itself in suburbs, where it operates independently. Earlier this month it launched the offering of CD’s in-store, marking the latest development in its strategy of cross-selling into the wider lifestyle choices of its core market of high end, ABC1’s aged between 25 and 50.
