Beanscene, the expanding food, coffee and music house, is, from today, today (05.11.07) offering free WiFi access to all customers in each of its 15 stores throughout Scotland.
The free offer comes five years after the Glasgow west end unit of Beanscene pioneered the introduction of a wireless hot-spot that enabled customers to connect to the internet in a fast and simple way.
Gordon Richardson Beanscene founder, said, "Communication on every level has always been at the core of what Beanscene's all about. The introduction of free WiFi access means that our established 25-50 year old customer base can now surf online and soak up some sounds while savouring an espresso or grazing from an appetising selection of freshly prepared foods and snacks."
Beanscene's WiFi offering is delivered through the formation of a partnership with internet specialists The Cloud to provide customers with free, secure high speed internet access.
Said Richardson, "We considered it to be vital that the system we offer our customers is a fully secure and monitored WiFi service with 24/7 support rather than an open gateway which could leave them open to potential IP theft and viruses. The system we've developed in partnership with The Cloud delivers that necessary robust level of security.
"Beanscene has always been about lifestyle and a state of mind. The introduction of free WiFi throughout our stores underlines our long held commitment to ensure that Beanscene is somewhere to kick back and take life in on its most enjoyable level; the simple concept of food, coffee, music and conversation – whether face to face or online."
Beanscene has a growth strategy to open up to 45 stores over the course of the next three years, comprising three managed superstores/ venues surrounded by a mix of up to 15 Beanscene and Beanscene Espresso stores.
